Predicament

I subdued myself in a big ole’ chair,
Right next to my uncle Terry,
In the living room comes my mom and grandmother conjointly,
It was my grandma’s birthday and it was around 2:00,
My grandma has about 40 things that have to do with lighthouses?,

She grabs the small sky blue present at the top and asks who it is from,
My uncle then boasts, “it is from me,”
It happens to be a lighthouse book,
As her face glows up, my mom tells me to grab her present,

I give her the present from me, my mom, and my sister,
She says thank you so merrily,
She opens it up and it is a Point Betsie Lighthouse, her favorite of them all,
“It was only 49.99!” I squeaked,

My mom shot me a glare saying, “why,”
I introspected, why did I say that,
I found myself in a timeout after that ado,
As I sit there, I started to frown,

I will never in a chiliad do that again,
That was such a barn burner,
Now never go share the price of present,
I learned that on this egregious day.

I used to not use my head as much and just say whatever came to mind, but now I use my head more, but sometimes still don't use my head.
