Only you and I can help the sun rise each morning. If we don't, it may drench itself out in sorrow - Joan Baez

I claimed the man the town boasted of

He was blue-eyd and blonde haired

One of Hitler's spawn

Never at a loss for words

That man captivated my attention

There couldn't be lips thinner than his

A mild-temperament that was never pushed

So respected by all

He desired what he came for

Before I was drained more

I pawned him away

This piece is based off of "Buffalo Bill's" by E.E. Cummings. The con man is someone who everyone in the town admires and enjoys very much, and the person narrating takes interest in him. Towards the end the narrator realizes that the con man is draining them of their wealth, and love.
