Where I'm From
I am from summer nights
with blankets, pajamas, campfires and family.
I am from s’mores and hotdogs over the fire
and warm pudgies in the middle of the night.
I am from a caring family that loves me.
I am from peaceful mornings
where I admire the sunrise.
I am from waiting and being motionless,
I am from camouflage and bright orange,
from seen to hidden.
I am from Sundays,
anxiously hoping for the win.
I am from yelling and cheering
so the neighbors can hear.
I am from crying from a loss,
and cheering from a win.
I am from the memories
that I will remember,
I won’t forget.
