It's two in the morning
and I'm holding out hope.
Despite the fact that
I have to get up early
and pretend I slept well.
Despite the fact that
the LCD screen is burning
my totally dry eyes.
Despite the fact that
you probably don't even
remember my name.
Despite the fact that
all I did was ignore your texts
after two in the morning.
Despite the fact that
you haven't texted me
in over a month.
Despite the fact that
I saw you with another girl,
the one you always wanted.
Despite the fact that
I wouldn't read a text if I got one,
I'm holding out hope because
it's two in the morning.
