be yourself
be a kid
like I did
be your own person
but did I mention
these sidelines
guidelines
to abide by
here are hoops
to jump through
and you’ll be fine
you've got time
ages birth to ten
a lot can happen in between them
then again
maybe sooner
But now you're older
be bolder
make decisions
and start living
this is your life
take control
do anything
but make out time
for activities
learning
studying
volunteering
being
and you’ll be fine
you’ve got time
and by the way
decide.

This poem came out when I was frustrated about how society is both telling me to be a careless kid and to make decisions that will affect the rest of my life.
