Snowflake
Falling in the dead night
through the cold, fretful sky
Destination unknown
But not alone
Joined by thousands of others,
We swirl through clouds.
speeding up,
And
slowing
down.
Finally,
breaking through the clouds,
Rushing to the earth
Picked up by the bitter wind,
Then thrust back down again.
I hit the cold white ground
with a soft whisper
This will be my home.
