Another souvenir,
In memory lane...
Amongst silver firs and oaks,
I walk the trodden way.
A sketchbook is all that's left!
Holding the key to the past...
The artist's treasures will remain,
Faces of charcoal peeping through the dust.
Come again, my highland lass,
Flows the Nightingale's song...
The heart goes lamenting,
Long after we are gone.
If the world knew the secret,
Of the elixir of immortality hidden in sands...
We could enjoy a lifetime...of,
No mere pictures in a frame,eternally holding hands.
