Do you know
what it’s like?
To speed
walk
to your car
with
your keys
in-between
your fingers.
As if they are going to
save you
from whatever lurks
nearby late
at night?
Do you know
what
I am thinking
as I immediately
lock
my door?
Of course.
You don’t.
Because
you
are lucky.
You were born
with muscle
and strength
and you
are taller
and
you are
bigger
and could
oh so easily
dominate me.
You have
power.
And I
have keys
that jingle
from
shaking hands.
