Numb hands on cold white sheets, the grey duvet now strewn across the floor

Bare, pale feet contrasting against the shadowed floor
My head throbs excruciatingly, so much that it makes my eyes and teeth ache
The panicked voice in the back of my head whispers horrifying thoughts
As my lungs burn as if they are collapsing in on themselves
My thoughts are jumbled so I start to count backwards from ten to try and think straight- 10 9 8
But I’m greeted by failure due to a sensation of lightheadedness and uncontrollable shaking

It feels like the Earth is spinning faster than it is and it starts to get hard to concentrate- 7 6
As the feeling of walls closing in and the high pitched ringing in my ears doesn’t leave and the Words ‘I can’t breathe’ and ‘I’m sorry’ spill from my eyes like a dam has burst- 5 4
Hands grasping onto the nearest object- I try to stand but I crumple back onto the floor
Because the world is caving in, and I fear it may swallow me- 3 2

Teeth sinking into my lip so hard I’m overwhelmed with the metallic taste of blood
And then my vision is impaired by the ebony curtain that’s fading in slowly
My lungs are non existent, leaving me gasping and coughing on the floor
And the voice is in the back of my head again but it’s shouting this time
It’s reminding me of everything I should be worrying about, dread coursing through
All of sudden I’m at 1 and the feeling of panic has left and I wait
