Across the Flyways MAG
From far and distant lands we come
searching for an abode in this beyond.
Exhausted from long and winding journeys,
Crouching from the cloudy skies,
Our hopeful hearts seeking a sanctuary
That shelters us in its bosom.
From Lithuania to Estonia,
the expatriates come to
the welcoming precincts.
“Bienvenue!” “Ben arrivata!” “Das Willkommen!”
And like disparate colorful beads,
We thread the string of love and humanity
From one end to the other.
In reverence, we paint the grand skies
of this fair land with diversity.
And we know, with passage of time
all the sands mix in the sandglass,
And become one entity …
Our vagrant wings have climbed the skies,
With winds of change and hope beneath,
Inching toward the horizons of possibilities.
Tense with the life of a future spring,
High and straight toward the promising sun,
Like Eleonora’s falcons we come.
We are different shades of skin,
Diverse in cultures and ethnicities.
Our identities glow in the warmth of togetherness
The lands gift our hearths with fire,
Our children’s lips with laughter;
As life undefeated goes on,
In the terrains that allow us to nest,
We know we are home.
