“Wrongfully do men lament the flight of time….Let your work be such that after death you become an image of immortality.” -Leonardo Da Vinci

Churning, aching, crippling
Blood is ice, eyes are wide,
Water climbs bringing high tide
coughs and sputters escape within

Drowning in a pit of regret
Shadows cast upon the wall
Whispers tower tall
Dressing them in anger

Spiraling, spinning, out of control
Slowly crashing, falling down
All they do is let out a frown
Sending demons to engulf me

Eyes shut, words without sound
Screams and cries of agony hide
Within the nothing deep inside
Emptiness taking over quickly

Pain is overwhelming
I was misunderstood
Now only if I could
Change, for the greater good

Hopeless thoughts sweep over
Maybe I’ve done wrong
Maybe it was me all along
Maybe I messed up

Haunting faces drift into view
Glares send chills down my spine
Their peace is lost, and so is mine
but they have each other, I am alone

I’m just little, tiny, small
but what was the cost?
I’m just broken, crippled, lost
but why was that?

I apologize for all my wrongdoings,
For my misdeed and crime,
I must serve the time
That is forever lost

I take this time
To make it up to you
One by one, it’s all I can do
Before you strike me one last time
