“Wrongfully do men lament the flight of time….Let your work be such that after death you become an image of immortality.” -Leonardo Da Vinci

Survival seems dim
as the sky plays her hymn
It was over now
unclear just how

Vision is blurred,
talking is slurred,
words hover in the air
as death takes him with care

Shadows crept
as he slept
on soft grass
as years go and pass

No one knew
what to do
but as they rise
they would come to despise

That awful death
and with it left
blue times to come
and a pain that’s numb

But now they cherish
those who perish
for their town
so they keep the crown
