Today I realized two things

One
If you don’t use the strongest words,
If you aren’t the skinniest,
If your hair isn’t the shiniest,
If you can hit the high notes;
That it’s okay.
That it’s perfectly okay.
And that you don’t have to be the best.
Some people like simple words,
Some people like their lover with something more,
Some people like hair that doesn’t blind them,
Some people like the low notes.
And that’s what makes you perfect

Two
You’re never going to be the best.
It’s that simple.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t try to be.
Sure, you can practice and practice,
And dance circles around the other girl,
But as soon as you step off stage,
Another girl is dancing bigger and better circles than you.
But instead of getting discouraged
Instead of giving up
Practice
And practice your circles until they are bigger than hers.
Then know
That some new girl will come out and show you
That she can do jumps,
Or pull her foot over her head while spinning.
The only thing wrong with that is
That now,
You’ll be practicing more.
But is that really such a bad thing?
