I have decided to not write of you in my novel, yet still you appear.
Not as a character, but in the thoughts and emotions
That bleed on to every page.
You’re part of every love scene,
Every bitter fight.
Traces of you appear on every piece of paper,
Between every indention and dotted line
You didn’t light the match, darling
You added fuel to the fire.
