Crunch
His tongue salivates at the salty reminder
Of a wasted childhood
Time spent playing marbles
Climbing trees and stealing honeybuns from the bodega down the road
Crunch
The only sound that could be heard
In the weeks following the epic fight
The silent treatment and ensuing divorce
Crunch
Oh, he hates Fritos
But lets the chip linger in his mouth
Accepting the offering of his little girl
An attempt to begin a relationship
Something his parents never tasted
