World Of The Dead

And as my last breath,
Crept out of my mouth,
My eyes closed slowly,
My body sunk.
Everything I was,
Or could've been,
Was, then, gone,
Just as the air that marked the end of my life.
My soul,
So free,
Soared high above,
The earth and seas below.
Who could know,
Who could see,
The peace that charged,
Deep within me ?
Although by body felt cold,
Rotting to nothing,
I was liberated,
To the quiet world of the dead.

Sometimes, I think I can imagine life after death. I imagine it in so many different ways. Good and bad. But I always watch myself slip away before it all begins.
