I lay in bed, in fear,
The monster is near
Under my covers, I’m safe,
But without them, I’m game.
I wait for the monster to find me, I close my eyes hoping, praying.
The covers are forced off of my head, I open my eyes to meet my death,
Nothing’s there, just a figure of my imagination,
The fear of living, the fear of death
They are all the same.
