it's ridiculous but i feel more safe sleeping in the woods on the ground than i do at home.
everyone always acts so surprised about that.
"On the GROUND? In the DIRT?"

Every summer, I attend summer camp, and I feel incredibly safe among my friends. I wanted this poem to convey the intense but simple feeling of safety and human connection that I value so much as a part of my summer (which is why I put most of it in all-lowercase letters).
