anonymous
i am anonymous
invisible
a quiet whisper
powerless to the strength of the wind
i am transparent
leaving no marks
i ever existed in the first place
i bite my tongue
hold my breath
suffocate my ideas
to conform
blend
disappear
i am not loved
not hated
unacknowledged
just another broken soul
trying to pick up pieces
of the life others have erased
i am a blunt pencil
a last resort
evidence of conformity
i sway when the wind blows
and form icicles on december nights
i will never appear in history books
only in trashed family photos
reminders of happier days
i am the stranger that crosses the street
in your photo albums
a pixel a blue green and red
and yet
i am still colourless
i am a spelling error
quickly erased with a couple presses on a keyboard
memories spent on me
are forgotten without thought
my name does not ring bells
crack smiles
quicken heartbeats
i am just a
‘her’
‘she’
‘it’
i am anonymous
