First Kiss
Throw a line,
There's two ways left to bleed,
Trapped inside you and me…
There’s a pyre burning,
There’s an exchange.
I’m on fire again, with the sparks
Of a heart attack:
The tang of your soft, engulfing lips,
For the first time.
Scorching nervous paranoia,
Burn down this hate.
Burn down my loss of face.
Black walls, ashes to this sledge hammer,
And I swear you’re mine,
Don’t walk away.
Burn me to the ground,
And we can shine like the stars.
