Television
Lulling little lullaby
Your vivid colors pass me by
My brain gets numb and goes to sleep
All my thoughts I cannot keep
I turn to you and ignore others
Blind to the addiction that is covered
Shining lights illuminate my face
The outlines of an outline that I trace
What I watch, it is pure fiction
But seems realer than the reality I live in
If I step outside my entranced haze
God knows what I'll do when I realize how the days
Have passed, and the things I let go?
They sit right beside me but I would never know
You start fights, everything is because of you!
You stir the pot in my life's movie review
I can hit rewind and play the things I want to
But in the life I live I'm stuck with what I do
What I do is watch you and watch you I will!
I pay attention to the characters that cannot fill
That empty hole in my heart
A boredom that makes me start
Turning away from everyone I love
Slip on the silky sad regret like Cinderella's glove
Oh television, I take back everything I've done
Except the only thing is, I can't unravel what's already been spun
Lulling little lullaby,
That I let put me to sleep
I'm sorry for the time I gave you
And the memories I let you keep.

Don't let television rule your life and relationships. Quality time with loved ones is so much more important than that.
