My Enemy's Voices
I try to shut these voices out,
they're drowning out my own.
They scream, they yell inside my mind
deafening me until I can hear no more.
Echoes ricochet
through the caverns of my brain
whispering, taunting me
from within their sheltered hideaways
My Mind is my only enemy
housing all of my thoughts
keeping every secret, collecting each doubt
all weapons to wage a war.
These weapons are waiting in it's grasp
until the time is right
all of the voices prey on my mind
screaming to be released, nearly crippling me
but my voice yells ENOUGH the loudest.
