Shattered
The allure of the sparkle
The presence of something new
It sparkles just so lovely
Yet it is only glass
We pick up shattered glass
Not realizing our own wounds
We pick the pieces up for friends and family
Not realizing the blood dripping from our helping hands
The shattered glass may look
Like nothing more than glass
But it is someone's crashed world
As that world had hit the pavement of reality
The world is a place of shattered glass
It's everywhere and unavoidable
There is nothing like the allure of helping
But we forget we are already bleeding
We are bleeding
From our own wounds inflicted on by others and glass
Yet we find in ourselves the willingness to pick up more glass
We are nothing but glass
We crack and we fall
We cry and we die
We fall into a glass world
Then we shatter when reality decides to come back and haunt
There is no real enemy in this world of glass
Our opinions and ideas hurt and destroy
They're glass
Only glass with broken edges
