The Canterbury Choir
In the second year, here is where I found
Music electrifying the air all around
Here, where you're not understood by your word
But only through your song your soul is heard.
Permeating all associations of clique or group
You are drawn together in a harmonious loop
And the songs dynamic sweep and swoop.
There's no judgement here in this chorus's root.
Liberation is what is discovered;
The song is made your new found lover
To whom you hover. To whom you run when you're alone
Because even God who sits on his throne
Delights in the song that David wrote
Psalms 23: "...through the valley of the shadow of death..."
Never will I fear when these words and mouth have met.
Pslms 71: "...But I will praise you more and more..."
The song sings truer than I've ever heard before.
This room is the heart and the singers are it's vessels
We, the people, whose peace has been embezzled.
We find rest in this room, free to sing our own song
If only there was more than just a class period long.
