Fire and Ice

I was ice,
Cold and scared,
You were fire,
Warm and brave.
We found comfort in each others arms,
Balanced each others extremes.
But slowly
So slowly I didn't even know
We became toxic to each other,
You were melting me into nothingness,
And I was putting out your flame.
Yes, I believe we found love, but fire and ice can never be together.
