A visit from Death
The black seeped through my eyes.
I saw nothing, but fear.
This was Death in disguise,
as it would appear.
Now I notice, this is real,
all I can manage is to weep.
Death creeped over and said, "Let's make a deal,"
He smirked and added, "although it certainly won't be cheap."
I let a sigh escape from my dry mouth and paid the price.
Death is tricky, try anything to avoid his game.
I lost my life, all due to dice,
and have been deemed insane.
He cackled in joy and spat,
"I have your soul!"
I whimpered and stared into the black pits he used for eyes,
and I softly agreed, "I know.."
The lights began to flicker and became very dim.
Death spoke with a deadly tone,
"I've got you now."
I woke up fast, realizing I'm all alone,
and simply wondered, "How?"

This was about a nightmare I had and I decided to turn it into the piece. It was very detailed, and even I was fooled for a moment into thinking it was real.
