Waiting

The weather is warm,
And the days grow long,
The sun stays up,
While restless students stare at a clock.
Waiting for what seems like forever.
An eternity passes before the bell rings,
Signaling it closer to the end of the school year.
Waiting for the days to magically go down,
And in a blink of an eye,
The school year will come to a close
As herds of students will thunder out of the building.
But for now… we wait.
