Tamalpais
Up and down
High and low
She wears no crown
The hills roll on, with an endless flow
The princess sleeps
Forever will she lie
Not a sound will she peep
As the days roll by
Her lay high
As the eastern peak
The birds fly in her sky
The biker’s bike on the steep
The green covers her body
Like a forest of trees
The night grows foggy
And her cities by the sea
Are light up the clouds
In their brilliant colours
She would be so proud
Of all the fathers and mothers
That reside in her wake
She will sleep endlessly
As the night takes
For she is the princess
For she is Tamalpais
