Slam Poetry
All these years and all this time.
I never hear; Good luck, you got this, you go girl, congratulations or better luck next time.
You tell me my imperfections, what I’ve done wrong, and what I can do better.
I want to hear things like; Good job, nice game, or you’re doing well.
According to you everything is my fault, the messy house, messy yard, and your messy life.
My mind makes me think I am the center of everyone’s bad mood.
I’m never home and you wonder why that is.
You are why that is…
You are why I never want to come home,
You are why I go insane every day,
You are why I want to leave and never look back.
You say I’m disrespectful and rude when you can’t take the truth.
You say I put words into your mouth when it’s the other way around.
You say I am a liar,
When you are the biggest liar here.
When I leave I am going to look back,
But only to see that your world is falling into pieces.
Then I will simply smile,
Because I have all these years and all this time to be happy.
