Working Heart

If you had a working heart,
Its wage would be from me.
I'd give you all I have
If it would make you healthy.
If you had a working heart,
Maybe mine would listen, too.
It would stop the mess from entering
When the barriers withdrew.
But you don't have a working heart;
In fact, you're working on breaking mine.
Waiting for the moment when
Our heartbeats will align.
But you don't have a working heart;
We will never be in sync.
Once you're gone it will be too long
Before our paths again interlink.
