Inside A Mind Consumed By Depression
Depression is like…
Being trapped in a dark room
With no doors or windows
So dark—
You can’t even see
Your hands in front of your face
Much less ever escape…
Or like you’re drowning
But everyone around you
Is breathing—
Like all walls are closing
Penetrating your lungs—
You’re walking through the halls
Being unnoticed
Like a spirit who hasn’t
Moved on—
Like you’re in a play being you
One who’s forced to smile—
Depression consumes you
Bit by bit—
