Chameleon
Her alarm sounds.
Her back arches underneath the scalding stream of shower water.
Powder and blush delicately swept across her complexion,
And mascara painted on her eyelashes— elongating each individual bristle.
The chameleon adapts to any surrounding;
blending in, never to be found.
Concealing itself from predators and diverting threats,
it cloaks in the tangled trees and leathery leaves,
hiding its presence from the world.
She hides her presence from the world,
And adapts to her surroundings.
She conceals herself from her predators, diverting threat.
She blends in and hopes to never be found.
