The Zone
when you’re writing,
or running,
or playing an instrument,
or reading,
or occupying yourself,
and giving it your complete concentration.
and for a few seconds your mind
is split into 2
and one side is trying to catch up with the other,
and your body is just a vessel.
When you write
and you only hear the words in your head.
When you run
and all you can feel is your feet moving.
When you play
and all you can feel is the notes flowing through you.
When you read
and all you feel is the world around you
falling away,
and you’re suddenly in the book.
That zone captivates you,
and for those few seconds,
you want to keep going
and never look back.
