The moments I see a child's smile,
I find their eyes, oh so infantile,
Teasing,
Remember where you belong;
The minutes I hear joyous conversation,
Echoes soon reveal a chaotic congregation
Chanting,
Remember where you belong;
The hours I feel a blissful warmth,
Chilling winds come rushing forth
Screeching,
Remember where you belong;
The days I find a ray of sunlight,
Clouds cover into grey twilight
Whispering,
Remember where you belong;
The months I enjoy before nature withers,
A snake smirks as it slithers
Hissing,
Remember where you belong;
I can only swim, for so long
Beneath this ocean, any light is wrong
So I drown in the darkness, my heart a gong
With my last breath, I sing a song:
