Can you see what has transpired
In the summer
Before all
Vitality fell to the profound
Depths of new
And old?
Can you hear the faint
Whisper of persistent nerves?
Can you feel the
Thump of his heart in
His head?
It is plunging past the known
Doubt born of
Contemporary happiness,
Decking his soul to beyond.
Do you know
That this is the story of Gatsby and Daisy;
Of Juliette and her Romeo?
It is anything but a scanty tale.
It is ageless,
Its notoriety forever
Generating thoughts
More than words and actions.
