Where im from
Grass, trees, and fields,
gravel roads and crowded highways.
I am from the sun filled days on the porch
and the smell of cigarettes and diesel trucks,
and the euphoric taste of garlic bread.
From scaling the top of Maples
And relaxing under the whispering willow.
I am from Rock n roll,
and the righteous blare of trains.
Traveling on and on until my next stop arrives.
Farming the top of the country, and vacations at the bottom,
Yet...
The ominous sound of woods
speaks clearer than the warming waters.
I am from unending days of exploring
on foot or sprocket.
The rainy days playing gamecube.
From pianos, to mosh-pits, to barbecue.
I’m from that funny old town that you don’t hear much about.
I am from change and more change.
Just more change for the poker game.
Venison for dinner, melting butter on top,
and growing peppers in back yard.
Im from ATVs jumping off home-made ramps.
From chilling with the cat and the crash of thunder.
I am from my favorite memories,
and also my worst.
They remind me of what comes first.
I know how to swim, drive and fly.
I am from travel thats rewarded with home.
I am from crafty cooking and new ideas.
I am from loud noises followed by “shh”
I am from the outdoors,
then they brought me in.
Now im here.
