Power
I don’t blame you for what happened.
After all, you couldn’t have stopped it anyway.
Only I could have ended it.
You may ask “why not?”
Because, when you’ve seen what I have,
You will sit as the tides ebb and flow
And the moon waxes and wanes.
When you witness the slaughter of thousands,
When you try to fight the fates
And “the Great I Am”
Then will an insect such as yourself
Will understand.
Mortal gods aren’t as benevolent
As their immortal counterparts.
We know we can be killed.
We hide behind our infinite power.
Bullets absorbed by walls of flesh,
Fire thrown back by scorched corpses of the weak.
Bury your thoughts, burn your books.
I
AM
YOUR
NEW
GOD.
