Hair tied back, cleats on
We are ready, fit, and strong
Parents waiting in anticipation
As both teams take the field
Coaches shout instructions,
Energy everywhere
Sometimes noisy and loud,
Together we are in it to win it
Referee blows the whistle
And it's on
The soccer ball is in the air, on the ground, and all around
Each team eager for a win
Ninety minutes of active play
Then one team is a winner today
Will it be you or me?
For the other there is some sorrow,
But they will be back to play tomorrow
