I am Shy

I sit here and listen
Observing what everyone else is doing
Sitting in silence, waiting for something to happen
Shy to say a word to add to the conversation
I have ideas of my thoughts
Of what to add
But I say nothing
As the direction of the conversation shifts
People start to ask why I am so quiet
All I say is that I am shy
I do not talk but I just think
Wondering what if I said something
What would happen
But I do not
I sit and watch
I will stay with my shyness
