I was a young girl that thought the world was perfect.
I remember when my childhood best friend was diagnosed with cancer.
I heard my mom tell me the awful news.
I worried that the treatments would not help.
I saw her slowly dying...
I thought that my life was going to be miserable if she didn't make it.
But, I wanted it to change.
I am now a strong woman.
I think that life is a very precious thing.
I need to make a difference in the world.
I try to remember the good times.
I feel motivated.
I forgive the chemo for not saving her...
Now I can change.
I will be a great nurse.
I choose to see the positives in the heartache.
I dream that there is a cure to cancer.
I hope to change the lives of sick people.
I predict I will help people in need.
I know I will make a difference in this world.
I am changed.

I had a friend that passed away of brain cancer at the age of 17. My whole childhood was with this person as my best friend. After her getting diagnosed and eventually passing away i decided to become a nurse so i could help people like her. Through the pain and suffering I have changed.
