Rain dripped
from the foggy windows
of the store.
Cling.
The door opened.
And she was there.
And it was okay.
Drink still in my hand,
I stared at her wet hair,
draping her shoulders.
Then,
she looked into my eyes.
"I promised, didn't I?"
I couldn't hide the smile.
"Yeah."
I bought a new umbrella that day.
To shelter us both
from the falling rain.
