Changing for the Worst
I used to say "I love you"
To everyone around me
I'd wrap my arms around them
And hold on to them tightly.
Every holiday I'd slave away
To make every person a card
With pictures and notes that would say
"I love you" in all sorts of ways.
I used to play and ride bikes with friends
And I never questioned anything
Until death introduced itself
At the latest time of spring.
I was emotionally reborn from my fathers ashes
But the dark marks of the ash stained me
My heart was closed and my mind too open
And now i feel nothing but crazy.
A little girl who once gave so much affection
Grew up to attract only nevative attention.
"She's the one who's father died" and "Her mother was recently beaten"
Were definitions of a girl who's spirit feels defeated.
Once so alive and now reborn to die,
The girl turned into a woman who's light faded from her eyes.
Who once was a gift from a god no longer known
Is now a simple being who feels completely alone.
