My Mind in Silence
I hear the piercing howl of silence,
like a hollow body without a soul.
Nor a reason to exist.
I hear the whispers of the past,
tugging on my flaws.
Laughter lingering for eternity.
I hear my stutters echoing,
bouncing around like a game of Pong,
as the walls close in on me.
I hear my regrets and desires,
from a life I sometimes hate.
My failures sticking to me like slime.
But then a noise is made.
The darkness vanishes,
and I return to reality.
I return to the laughter
of those I love.
I return to the sun
rising in salvation.
I return to the sound
of joy.
I return to a reality
where I’m doing
just fine.
