On How To See God
Some nights I hold liquor in my heart.
It flows against the valves, I want it in every passage.
And on the nights in which I wish to see God,
I let it break me up.
Metaphysical, intangible, ethereal:
I know I’ll be there soon.
I feel God through my sheets,
Metaphysical, intangible, ethereal.
I hold my head and he takes over.
The next morning, I ascend.
Heels clicking in absolute power against the concrete of the four-lane highway,
I meet him yet again.
