Annabell Lee
The cheerful glee as my father returns,
embarks my journey down the stony stairs.
My eyes watched enhanced by my father's glow,
and in his hand, sat so grand,
a little dolly for me.
With the name of Annabell Lee.
Oh, through the months we gleefully played,
pranced down the soft grassed meadows.
Dressed up like kings and queens, with balls of course!
Talked to one another for hours upon hours on the secrets we both kept,
but as memories happily pounced, our luck has officially ran out.
On my darling, Annabell lee.
You see where my doll laid nestled in my bed,
a monster's grin suppressed the murderous glee.
That my happy, Annabell lee would have with me.
Quietly she crept of the room, making sure I did not wake.
To the kitchen with haste she climbed up the counters,
and there glistened in her hands.
The start of the glorious game.
The rustling of movement awoke me from my splendid slumber,
A scared sensation raced around like buzzing bee's when I saw-
My Annabell lee,
With a chestier grin plastered to her perfectly plastic face.
And in her hand, to my dismay,
A pristine knife, meant for me.
From my sinister, Annabell Lee.
My screams curdled my throat raw as I lunged away,
the blankets stopping my monster Annabell Lee, for a moment.
As I desperately tried to escape the patter of my happily skipping, Annabell Lee.
My thoughts trailed on where to run, to escape the wrath of my darling doll.
A sickening thought passed through my crushing skull,
that this was the gloomy game right from the start.
I the mouse, and she the cat,
such a tragedy this must be,
to be attacked by my darling, Annabell Lee.
The hourglass last beat of doomed sand laid with the rest,
my time has ran out.
For in my dismay, My sweet Annabell lee, cornered her precious mouse.
Hopelessness sent her cruel hand exploding my already failing heart.
And just like that, the screams curdled as the blade bled crimson.
My soul, perfectly fractured.
Was stolen by my playful, Annabell Lee.
