Why do people care about being popular?

Does being in a school sport make you more popular?

To be popular do you have to look perfect?

Popularity is stupid!
I think….
It separates others even though we are all equal in some way.
I think….
Being popular doesn’t have to mean you have a whole world of friends.
Why can’t others notice the athletes that don’t necessarily participate in school sports?
Or even the ones that participate in school clubs such as Spanish or art?
I think….
Dressing a certain way shouldn’t make you more or less popular.
Making yourself look perfect with your hair or your make up everyday, 
Is it really worth all the extra time? 

What about inner beauty and personality?
A song says
“You don’t have to try so hard,
You don’t have to give it all away,
You just have to get up,
Get up,
Get up,
Get up,
You don’t have to change a single thing.”
You have beauty within you.
Don’t let others tear you down.

Think about your friends,
Are they really true friends?
I wouldn’t want a friend that only liked me because I always wore cute clothes, 
Or because I was team captain.
I want friends based on how I act and my personality.
I want them to like me for me,
Even when I am having an off day.

Ask yourself
Don’t you like you?
And remember
NOBODY IS PERFECT!
PERFECTION and POPULARITY are OVERRATED!
