“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”

From my dark paradise

I remember your words

That we would always be together

From the withering flowers that were left at my tomb

There is nothing left but dust

I see once again that you are gone

I remember love as a door that was always locked for me

Yet when you appeared I thought you were the key

In oceans of vast darkness I thought I was alone

But when you turned your head my way

My stars once again shone

Beauty I found in your embrace

Passion I found in your stare

You held me in my nightmares

And my wounds you helped heal

But from the darkest pit came Satan's roaring laughter

And the shadows of the underground took you while I slept

And when you floated away from me with your heart on your cheek

I tried not to weep

As my limbs fell apart

And the only remains were the broken pieces of my heart

That's why, silently, in the eerie shades of dawn

I bid my cross undone

And as I fell off the little piece of heaven

That I had dubbed as "you and I"

As love left me behind

With my heart cold as stone

I thought,

When my heart wanted to let go

"What a beautiful way to die,

What a beautiful way to kill"

I held on to my misery

Death and all his friends

Us, the ones who were ripped from that bliss

We sit in lingering sadness

Wishing that our lovers had thought of us

As valuable enough to keep

And now all that's left is our moving corpses

With souls long lost, long gone

And the blood that ran through our veins

Has dried, yes, all is gone

And as I rotted with my friends

Playing cards in our vandalized graves

Looking for a drug or an escape

From the pain that remains

From those poisonous bubbles we once called love

I thought of how love had been our downfall,

Sitting on a grey afternoon like all the others were

And I saw that killing with love

Is, indeed, a beautiful way to kill

But I'm not dead yet

The red blood that was present in our mortal bodies

Was proof that at the core we were all the same

Yet the living have forgotten

Yes, the blood that shone, it's all gone

The canals that enriched our kisses

And gave us courage to keep a strong grip

It's all gone now

And we haven't forgotten

We haven't given up hope

That's what has kept us from dying

That's what has kept us from living

But I think I'll let go now

I will let this be the end

What a beautiful way to die

What a beautiful way to kill

I'm so proud of you for publishing your first piece! It's very well written, and it follows a steady yet smooth flow. I can't wait to read your next works of literature!
