Lifelessly floating,
Like driftwood in the Mississippi,
Facing up,
A note pinned to chest that reads “Why not?”
Trapped between bloated fingers,
A crimson rose,
Perfectly snipped from a bush,
Tears falling even in death,
But staying in one unmistaken direction.
