The Broken Girl
The Broken girl,
From the broken home,
Is filled with anger
and feels alone.
She chases the boy,
the one of her dreams.
Changes her look,
Disguises herself,
as something she’ll never be.
She doesn’t understand,
That when its all said and done.
She’ll be taken by the hand
And will be forever loved.
The broken girl,
From the broken home,
Walks down the aisle.
Her dad holds her by his side
Gives her a hug
And permission to fly.
At the altar she stands.
The groom takes her hand.
He says I do.
She does too.
The broken girl
From the broken home,
Waves goodbye.
With her groom at her side,
She no longer is alone.

This piece was inspired by a rant that I once went on about the brokenness of teenagers.
