Courtship
Mirror mirror on the wall,
Who is fairest of them all?
As far as I can see,
It sure as hell isn't me.
In this reflection,
I see a cliché of surrenders.
Abandonment of hope and dreams.
This redundancy has weakened my fragile frame,
My soul, and harmony.
Sometimes I sit and ponder
How, and why this happened?
These constant, unrequited feelings
Have destroyed this innocent child.
My view of love,
Has been adapted
By individuals
Tampering with the sacred meaning
Of Victorian devotion.
Clarifying bastards
Of catastrophic Playboy Era.
